Abstract
The present disclosure includes apparatuses and methods related to selectively performing logical operations. An example apparatus comprises sensing circuitry including a sense amplifier and a compute component. A controller is coupled to sensing circuitry and is configured to cause storing of an indication of whether a logical operation is to be selectively performed between an operand stored in the sensing circuitry and an operand stored in the sense amplifier.

An apparatus, comprising:
- sensing circuitry including a sense amplifier and a compute component;
- and
- a controller coupled to the sensing circuitry and configured to:
- cause storing of an indication of whether a logical operation is to be selectively performed between an operand stored in the sensing circuitry and an operand stored in the sense amplifier;
- cause the logical operation to be selectively performed;
- and
- cause the indication of whether a logical operation is to be selectively performed to be transferred to a logic circuitry storage location in response to a determination that the operand stored in the sensing circuitry is to be used in the logical operation.
The apparatus of claim, 1 wherein the controller is configured to cause the operand stored in the sensing circuitry to not be transferred to the logic circuitry storage location in response to the indication of whether the logical operation is to be selectively performed indicating that the logical operation is not to be selectively performed between the operand stored in the logic circuitry storage location and the operand stored in the sense amplifier.
An apparatus, comprising:
- a sense amplifier coupled to logic circuitry, the logic circuitry including a logic circuitry storage location;
- a compute component coupled to the logic circuitry, the compute component including a first storage location;
- and
- a controller coupled to the sense amplifier, the logic circuitry, and the compute component, wherein the controller is configured to:
- cause an indication of whether a logical operation is to be performed by the apparatus to be transferred from the first storage location to the logic circuitry storage location in response to a determination that a data value of the indication is to be used in the logical operation.
An apparatus, comprising:
- a plurality of sensing components, each sensing component including a sense amplifier and a compute component, wherein each of the respective compute components of the plurality of sensing components comprises a respective logic circuitry storage location configured to receive an operand stored in a corresponding respective sensing component in response to an indication a logical operation is to be selectively performed between operands stored in the respective compute component of the plurality of sensing components and operands stored in the corresponding respective sense amplifier of the plurality of sensing components;
- and
- a controller coupled to the sensing components,
- wherein the controller is configured to:
- cause the indication of whether the logical operation is to be selectively performed between operands stored in respective compute components of the plurality of sensing components and operands stored in corresponding respective sense amplifiers of the plurality of sensing components to be stored in the respective sensing components;
- and
- cause the logical operation to be selectively performed between the operand received by the logic circuitry storage location and an operand stored in the corresponding respective sense amplifier of the plurality of sensing components.
A method, comprising:
- storing, in sensing circuitry comprising a sense amplifier and a compute component, an indication of whether a logical operation between a first operand stored in the compute component and a second operand stored in the sense amplifier is to be selectively performed;
- performing the logical operation;
- and
- moving a data value of the indication from the sensing circuitry to another storage location subsequent to performing the logical operation.
A method, comprising:
- storing, in sensing circuitry comprising a sense amplifier and a compute component, an indication of whether a logical operation between a first operand stored in the compute component and a second operand stored in the sense amplifier is to be selectively performed, wherein storing the indication comprises applying a mask to the logical operation such that the second operand is not moved from the sensing circuitry to a different storage location.
A method, comprising:
- storing, in sensing circuitry comprising a sense amplifier and a compute component, an indication of whether a logical operation between a first operand stored in the compute component and a second operand stored in the sense amplifier is to be selectively performed;
- not performing the logical operation between the first operand stored in the compute component and the second operand stored in the sense amplifier in response to the indication indicating that the logical operation is not to be performed between the first operand stored in the compute component and the second operand stored in the sense amplifier;
- and
- performing the logical operation between a third operand stored in a second compute component and a fourth operand stored in a second sense amplifier in response to the indication indicating that the logical operation is not to be performed between the first operand stored in the compute component and the second operand stored in the sense amplifier.
An apparatus, comprising:
- sensing circuitry including a sense amplifier and a compute component;
- a logic circuitry storage location coupled to the sensing circuitry;
- and
- a controller coupled to the sensing circuitry and configured to:
- cause storing of an indication of whether a logical operation is to be selectively performed between an operand stored in the sensing circuitry and an operand stored in the sense amplifier;
- and
- cause the operand stored in the sensing circuitry to be transferred to the logic circuitry storage location in response to the indication of whether the logical operation is to be selectively performed indicating that the logical operation is to be selectively performed between the operand stored in the logical circuitry storage location and the operand stored in the sense amplifier.
