Abstract
A sling including a material having a plurality of edges. At least one of the edges of the material has a pattern of projections.
Claims8
A surgical implant comprising:
- a sling for implantation at an anatomical site in a body of a patient, said sling being characterized by a long axis between a first end of the sling and a second end of the sling, the sling including a sheet of mesh material having a first planar surface and a second planar surface, wherein a distance between the first planar surface and the second planar surface defining a thickness of the sling;
- a tensioning device comprising a strand in contact with said sling and extending substantially parallel to the long axis of said sling, at least a portion of the strand extending between the first end of the sling and the second end of the sling such that the strand extends an entire length of the sling, the strand forming a coil, the coil forming a plurality of loops, each loop of the plurality of loops having a shape that bends around to form a complete loop, the plurality of loops extending from the first end of the sling to the second end of the sling, the strand being woven through the mesh material of the sling, wherein a full loop extends beyond the terminal end of the sling,
- wherein at least a portion of one of the plurality of loops extends beyond a terminal end of the sling.
