Abstract
A data processing device, which processes and provides data to a plurality of logical pixels of a display device, includes: a data analysis part which analyzes information of text, color, line or edge in each of the data; and a data compensation part which compensates text data corresponding to a logical pixel which does not express text color among the data having the information of text based on the information analyzed in the data analysis part, where each of the logical pixels of the display device comprises at least one of red, green, blue and optional color sub-pixels.
Claims22
A data processing device, which processes and provides data to a plurality of logical pixels of a display device, comprising:
- a data analysis part which analyzes information of text, color, line or edge in each of the data and comprises:
- a histogram analysis part which analyzes the data corresponding to a first logical pixel block, which is defined by at least a portion of the logical pixels, to determine a color of text and background of an image to be displayed in the first logical pixel block;
- a text judgment part which analyzes the data corresponding to a second logical pixel block as a unit of analysis to detect whether or not the data corresponding to the second logical pixel block include the information of text, and outputs a first text signal when the data corresponding to the second logical pixel block include information of text;
- a line/edge detection part which receives the first text signal and analyzes the data corresponding to the second logical pixel block as the unit for analysis to detect whether or not the data corresponding to the second logical pixel block corresponds to a line or an edge;
- and
- a color analysis part which receives the first text signal and detects colors of the data corresponding to the first logical pixel block;
- and
- a data compensation part which compensates text data corresponding to a logical pixel which is unable to represent a text color among the data having the information of text based on the information analyzed in the data analysis part,
- wherein each of the logical pixels of the display device comprises only parts of red, green and blue sub-pixels and an optional color sub-pixel.
A display system comprising:
- a display device comprising a plurality of logical pixels, wherein each of the logical pixels comprises only parts of red, green and blue sub-pixels and an optional sub-pixel;
- a rendering part which receives an image data and renders the received image data to generate rendered image data;
- and
- a data processing device which processes and provides the rendered image data to the display device,
- wherein the data processing device comprises:
- a data analysis part which analyzes information of text, color, line or edge of the rendered image data and comprises:
- a histogram analysis part which analyzes data corresponding to a first logical pixel block, which is defined by at least a portion of the logical pixels, to determine a color of text and background of an image to be displayed in the first logical pixel block;
- a text judgment part which analyzes the data corresponding to a second logical pixel block as a unit of analysis to detect whether or not the data corresponding to the second logical pixel block include the information of text, and outputs a first text signal when the data corresponding to the second logical pixel block include the information of text;
- a line/edge detection part which receives the first text signal and analyzes the data corresponding to the second logical pixel block as the unit of analysis to detect whether or not the data corresponding to the second logical pixel block corresponds to a line or an edge;
- and
- a color analysis part which receives the first text signal and detects colors of the data corresponding to the first logical pixel block;
- and
- a data compensation part which compensates text data corresponding to a logical pixel which is unable to represent a text color among data having the information of text based on the information analyzed in the data analysis part.
