Abstract
A curved display device curved in a first direction includes: a first substrate including a plurality of signal lines, an insulating layer which covers the signal lines, a pixel electrode disposed on the insulating layer, and a shielding electrode electrically insulated from the pixel electrode and disposed along a signal line, which extends substantially in a second direction crossing the first direction, among the signal lines; a second substrate disposed opposite to the first substrate and including a common electrode; and a light control layer interposed between the first substrate and the second substrate.
Claims20
A curved display device curved in a first direction, comprising:
- a first substrate curved in the first direction comprising:
- a plurality of signal lines extending in the first direction and a second direction crossing the first direction;
- an insulating layer which covers the plurality of signal lines;
- a pixel electrode disposed on the insulating layer;
- and
- a plurality of shielding electrodes electrically insulated from the pixel electrode and overlapping first signal lines, which extend in the second direction among the plurality of signal lines;
- a second substrate curved in the first direction disposed opposite to the first substrate and comprising a common electrode;
- and
- a light control layer interposed between the first substrate and the second substrate,
- wherein
- the plurality of shielding electrodes extend along the first signal lines and are spaced apart from each other in the first direction,
- a width in the first direction of a shielding electrode of the plurality of shielding electrodes is determined by a panel size and a radius of curvature of the curved display device and in a range including a value (w2) satisfying the following equation:
- w2=C1+α(R)+β(S)+γ(S2)+δ(R×S),
- wherein each of C1, α, β, γ, δ denotes a predetermined constant,
- R denotes the radius of curvature, and
- S denotes the panel size.
