Internally supported power track

A boom assembly for a lift device, the boom assembly comprising:

• a plurality of telescoping boom sections including a base boom section, a mid boom section, and a fly boom section, wherein the plurality of telescoping boom sections define an inner volume;
• a push tube directly coupled to the base boom section;
• a tubular support member positioned within the inner volume, the support member comprising an upper plate coupled to a lower plate with a pair of sidewalls, the upper plate and the lower plate each having an inner surface and an opposing outer surface;
• and
• a power track positioned within the inner volume and having a plurality of movable links, the power track comprising:
• (a) a first supported portion including a first set of a plurality of movable links disposed atop and resting on the inner surface of the lower plate of the support member;
• (b) a second supported portion including a second set of a plurality of movable links disposed atop and resting on the opposing outer surface of the upper plate of the support member;
• and
• (c) a curved portion directly coupling the first supported portion and the second supported portion;
• wherein the power track includes a first end coupled to the base boom section with a first interface link and a second end coupled to the fly boom section with a second interface link, the entire length of the power track between the first interface link and the second interface link defining an overall length of the power track, wherein the first supported portion and the second supported portion define a working length of power track, wherein the working length of power track is shorter than the overall length of the power track, and wherein the first interface link is directly connected to the first supported portion, and the second interface link is directly connected to the second supported portion, and wherein, the entire working length is fully supported by the support member throughout the entire range of motion of the boom assembly from a fully retracted position to a fully extended position;
• wherein the first supported portion and the second supported portion contact the support member along an entire length of the first supported portion and an entire length of the second supported portion, respectively.
