Abstract
Transgenic soybean seed having increased total fatty acid content of at least 10% and altered fatty acid profiles when compared to the total fatty acid content of non-transgenic, null segregant soybean seed are described. DGAT genes from oleaginous organisms are used to achieve the increase in seed storage lipids.
Claims20
A construct comprising a heterologous regulatory sequence operably linked to a nucleotide sequence encoding a polypeptide having diacylglycerol acyltransferase activity wherein the polypeptide has at least 95% amino acid identity, when compared to an amino acid sequence from Lipomyces starkeyi as set forth in SEQ ID NO:
- 272 or 299.
