Abstract
The present disclosure provides methods for identifying agents that are candidate agents for treating atopic dermatitis. The present disclosure provides methods for diagnosing atopic dermatitis. The present disclosure provides compositions and methods for treating atopic dermatitis.
Claims7
A method of identifying a candidate agent for treating atopic dermatitis, the method comprising:
- a) contacting a test agent in vitro with a cell expressing a Thymic Stromal Lymphopoietin (TSLPR) polypeptide and a Transient Receptor Potential Cation Channel, member A1 (TRPA1) polypeptide, wherein the TSLPR polypeptide comprises an amino acid sequence having at least 95% amino acid sequence identity to the amino acid sequence set forth in SEQ ID NO:
- 1, and wherein the TRPA1 polypeptide comprises an amino acid sequence having at least 95% amino acid sequence identity to the amino acid sequence set forth in SEQ ID NO:
- 3;
- and
- b) determining the effect of the test agent on coupling between TSLPR and TRPA1,
- wherein a test agent that reduces coupling between TSLPR and TRPA1, compared to a control cell not contacted with the test agent, is considered a candidate agent for treating atopic dermatitis.
