Transcutaneous stimulation method and system

A method of treating constipation, the method comprising:

• administering a first transcutaneous electrical stimulation (TES) between at least one lower pelvic region and at least one lower lumbar or sacral region of a patient having the constipation using at least a first, second, third and fourth surface electrode, and wherein the first and second surface electrodes are placed on a surface of the at least one lower pelvic region of the patient and the third and fourth surface electrodes are placed on a surface of the at least one lower lumbar or sacral region of the patient;
• administering a second TES between at least one abdominal region and at least one lumbar region using at least a fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth surface electrode, wherein the fifth and sixth surface electrodes are placed on a surface of the at least one abdominal region of the patient that is above the at least one lower pelvic region and the seventh and eighth surface electrodes are placed on a surface of the at least one lumbar region of the patient that is above the at least one lower lumbar or sacral region;
• and
• wherein the first and second TES is administered for at least one treatment period per day over a treatment term of at least one week for constipation treatment, wherein the first and second TES each comprises interferential electrical stimulation.
