Abstract
A device and a method to measure the concentrations of oxygenated and deoxygenated hemoglobin in tissue around a tumor via near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy with a photonic mixer device (PMD) is described.
Claims8
A device for continuous monitoring of a tumor in a tissue region, the device comprising:
- a PMD camera chip;
- and
- at least two amplitude modulated near-infrared light sources horizontally separated from the PMD camera chip such that the PMD camera chip and the at least two near-infrared light sources are in a reflection geometry,
- wherein a first amplitude modulated near-infrared light source emits near-infrared light at a first wavelength, the first wavelength below an isosbestic point of hemoglobin, and
- wherein a second amplitude modulated near-infrared light source emits near-infrared light at a second wavelength, the second wavelength above the isosbestic point of hemoglobin.
