Abstract
A pest control agent comprising an aromatic compound represented by formula (1) wherein R1 represents a halogen atom, etc.; R3 represents a hydrogen atom, etc.; R7 represents a C1-C3 alkyl group optionally having one or more halogen atoms, etc.; Z2 represents a halogen atom, etc.; Z3 represents a C1-C3 alkyl group optionally having one or more halogen atoms, etc.; and Q represents the following group Q1, Q2, or Q3 has excellent control activity.

An aromatic compound represented by formula (1):
- wherein R1 represents a halogen atom or a C1-C4 alkyl group optionally having one or more halogen atoms;
- R3 represents a hydrogen atom or a C1-C4 alkyl group optionally having one or more halogen atoms;
- R7 represents a C1-C3 alkyl group optionally having one or more halogen atoms, a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a C1-C3 alkoxy group optionally having one or more halogen atoms, a C3-C4 cycloalkyl group optionally having one or more halogen atoms, or a C2-C4 alkenyl group optionally having one or more halogen atoms;
- Z2 represents a halogen atom, a C1-C3 alkoxy group, or a C1-C3 alkyl group;
- Z3 represents a C1-C3 alkyl group optionally having one or more halogen atoms, or a halogen atom;
- Q represents the following group Q1, Q2, or Q3;
- R5 represents a C1-C3 alkyl group optionally having one or more halogen atoms;
- R10 represents a hydrogen atom, a hydroxyl group, or a methyl group;
- R11 represents a hydrogen atom, a hydroxyl group, a methyl group, or a methoxy group;
- X1 represents an oxygen atom or a sulfur atom;
- X2 represents an oxygen atom, a sulfur atom, NR12, or a direct bond;
- and
- R12 represents a C1-C3 alkyl group optionally having one or more halogen atoms, or a hydrogen atom.

- R3 represents a hydrogen atom or a C1 -C4 alkyl group optionally having one or more halogen atoms;
