Abstract
According to the invention, there is provided seed and plants of the hybrid corn variety designated CH871935. The invention thus relates to the plants, seeds and tissue cultures of the variety CH871935, and to methods for producing a corn plant produced by crossing a corn plant of variety CH871935 with itself or with another corn plant, such as a plant of another variety. The invention further relates to genetic complements of plants of variety CH871935.
Claims21
A seed of hybrid corn variety CH871935, produced by crossing a first plant of variety CV342520 with a second plant of variety CV455328, wherein representative seed of said varieties CV342520 and CV455328 have been deposited under ATCC Accession numbers 121222 and PTA-123815, respectively.
A seed of hybrid corn variety CH871935 further comprising a first single locus conversion, produced by crossing a first plant of variety CV342520 with a second plant of variety CV455328, wherein representative seed of said varieties CV342520 and CV455328 have been deposited under ATCC Accession numbers 121222 and PTA-123815, respectively, and wherein one or both of the first plant and second plant further comprises the single locus conversion, and wherein a plant grown from said seed comprises a trait conferred by said first single locus conversion.
A method of introducing a heritable trait into hybrid corn variety CH871935, the method comprising the steps of:
- (a) introducing at least the heritable trait into at least a first inbred corn variety selected from the group consisting of variety CV342520 and variety CV455328 to produce a plant of the first inbred corn variety that heritably carries the heritable trait, wherein the heritable trait is introduced into said first inbred corn variety by backcrossing, wherein said backcrossing is sufficient to produce a plant of variety CV342520 or variety CV455328 further comprising the heritable trait and wherein representative seed of variety CV342520 and variety CV455328 have been deposited under ATCC Accession numbers 121222 and PTA-123815, respectively;
- and
- (b) crossing said plant of the first inbred corn variety that heritably carries the heritable trait with a plant of a different variety selected from said group consisting of CV342520 and CV455328 to produce a plant of said hybrid corn variety CH871935 further comprising the heritable trait.
