Abstract
According to the invention, there is provided seed and plants of the hybrid corn variety designated CH063234. The invention thus relates to the plants, seeds and tissue cultures of the variety CH063234, and to methods for producing a corn plant produced by crossing a corn plant of variety CH063234 with itself or with another corn plant, such as a plant of another variety. The invention further relates to genetic complements of plants of variety CH063234.
Claims21
A seed of hybrid corn variety CH063234, produced by crossing a first plant of variety CV498625 with a second plant of variety CV057074, wherein representative seed of said varieties CV498625 and CV057074 have been deposited under ATCC Accession numbers PTA-11932 and PTA-123042, respectively.
A corn seed produced by crossing
- (a) a plant of variety CV057074, or a selfed progeny thereof, having a transgene introduced by backcrossing or transformation, with a plant of variety CV498625,
- (b) a plant of variety CV498625, or a selfed progeny thereof, having a transgene introduced by backcrossing or transformation, with a plant of variety CV057074, or
- (c) a plant of variety CV498625, or a selfed progeny thereof, having a transgene introduced by backcrossing or transformation, with a plant of variety CV057074, or a selfed progeny thereof, having a transgene introduced by backcrossing or transformation,
- wherein said backcrossing is sufficient to produce a plant further comprising said transgene and otherwise all of the morphological and physiological characteristics of corn variety CV498625 or corn variety CV057074, and wherein representative seed of said varieties CV498625 and CV057074 have been deposited under ATCC Accession numbers PTA-11932 and PTA-123042, respectively, and wherein said transgene is inherited by said corn seed.
A seed of hybrid corn variety CH063234 further comprising a single locus conversion, wherein said seed is produced by crossing a first plant of variety CV498625 with a second plant of variety CV057074, wherein representative seed of said varieties CV498625 and CV057074 have been deposited under ATCC Accession numbers PTA-11932 and PTA-123042, respectively, and wherein one or both of the first plant and second plant further comprises the single locus conversion, and wherein a plant grown from said seed comprises a trait conferred by said single locus conversion.
A method of introducing a heritable trait into hybrid corn variety CH063234, said method comprising the steps of:
- (a) introducing at least the heritable trait into at least a first inbred corn variety selected from the group consisting of variety CV498625 and variety CV057074 to produce a plant of the first inbred corn variety that heritably carries the heritable trait, wherein the heritable trait is introduced into said first inbred corn variety by backcrossing, wherein said backcrossing is sufficient to produce a plant further comprising the heritable trait, and wherein representative seed of variety CV498625 and variety CV057074 have been deposited under ATCC Accession numbers PTA-11932 and PTA-123042, respectively;
- and
- (b) crossing said plant of the first inbred corn variety that heritably carries the heritable trait with a plant of a different variety selected from said group consisting of CV498625 and CV057074 to produce a plant of said hybrid corn variety CH063234 further comprising the heritable trait.
A plant of hybrid corn variety CH063234 further comprising a transgene, wherein said plant otherwise comprises all of the morphological and physiological characteristics of corn variety CH063234 when grown under the same environmental conditions.
