Abstract
According to the invention, there is provided seed and plants of the hybrid corn variety designated CH127077. The invention thus relates to the plants, seeds and tissue cultures of the variety CH127077, and to methods for producing a corn plant produced by crossing a corn plant of variety CH127077 with itself or with another corn plant, such as a plant of another variety. The invention further relates to genetic complements of plants of variety CH127077.
Claims21
A seed of hybrid corn variety CH127077, produced by crossing a first plant of variety CV009014 with a second plant of variety CV511034, wherein representative seed of said varieties CV009014 and CV511034 have been deposited under ATCC Accession numbers PTA-123061 and PTA-121099, respectively.
A corn seed produced by crossing
- (a) a plant of variety CV511034, or a selfed progeny thereof, having a transgene introduced by backcrossing or transformation, with a plant of variety CV009014,
- (b) a plant of variety CV009014, or a selfed progeny thereof, having a transgene introduced by backcrossing or transformation, with a plant of variety CV511034, or
- (c) a plant of variety CV009014, or a selfed progeny thereof, having a transgene introduced by backcrossing or transformation, with a plant of variety CV511034, or a selfed progeny thereof, having a transgene introduced by backcrossing or transformation,
- wherein said backcrossing is sufficient to produce a plant further comprising said transgene and otherwise all of the morphological and physiological characteristics of corn variety CV009014 or corn variety CV511034, and wherein representative seed of said varieties CV009014 and CV511034 have been deposited under ATCC Accession numbers PTA-123061 and PTA-121099, respectively, and wherein said transgene is inherited by said corn seed.
A seed of hybrid corn variety CH127077 further comprising a single locus conversion, wherein said seed is produced by crossing a first plant of variety CV009014 with a second plant of variety CV511034, wherein representative seed of said varieties CV009014 and CV511034 have been deposited under ATCC Accession numbers PTA-123061 and PTA-121099, respectively, and wherein one or both of the first plant and second plant further comprises the single locus conversion, and wherein a plant grown from said seed comprises a trait conferred by said single locus conversion.
A method of introducing a heritable trait into hybrid corn variety CH127077, said method comprising the steps of:
- (a) introducing at least the heritable trait into at least a first inbred corn variety selected from the group consisting of variety CV009014 and variety CV511034 to produce a plant of the first inbred corn variety that heritably carries the heritable trait, wherein the heritable trait is introduced into said first inbred corn variety by backcrossing, wherein said backcrossing is sufficient to produce a plant further comprising the heritable trait, and wherein representative seed of variety CV009014 and variety CV511034 have been deposited under ATCC Accession numbers PTA-123061 and PTA-121099, respectively;
- and
- (b) crossing said plant of the first inbred corn variety that heritably carries the heritable trait with a plant of a different variety selected from said group consisting of CV009014 and CV511034 to produce a plant of said hybrid corn variety CH127077 further comprising the heritable trait.
A plant of hybrid corn variety CH127077 further comprising a transgene, wherein said plant otherwise comprises all of the morphological and physiological characteristics of corn variety CH127077 when grown under the same environmental conditions.
