Abstract
A method and device are provided for volatilizing active and/or aroma materials for releasing an inhalable aerosol, wherein a fluid flows through a flow channel in a preferably cylindrical hollow body, wherein the fluid in the flow channel entirely or in part flows through at least one vaporizer membrane in a fluid stream, wherein the at least one vaporizer membrane has been and/or is wetted with a substance containing an active and/or aroma material to be vaporized, and wherein the fluid additionally contains thermal energy and vaporizes the substance on flowing through the vaporizer membrane and supplies the vaporized substance to the fluid stream.
Claims21
A method for volatilising active and/or aroma materials for releasing an inhalable aerosol, comprising:
- flowing a fluid through a flow channel in a hollow body, the fluid in the flow channel entirely or partly flowing through at least one vaporiser membrane in a fluid stream,
- wherein the at least one vaporiser membrane extends laterally across the flow channel and has a thickness, taken in a longitudinal direction of the hollow body, which is less than an inner diameter of the hollow body,
- wherein the at least one vaporiser membrane includes a substance containing an active and/or aroma material, and
- wherein the fluid additionally contains thermal energy and vaporises the substance on flowing through the at least one vaporiser membrane, the fluid flowing through the at least one vaporiser membrane in a direction parallel to the longitudinal direction;
- and
- supplying the vaporised substance to the fluid stream.
A device for volatilising active and/or aroma materials for releasing an inhalable aerosol, comprising:
- a hollow body in which is formed a flow channel;
- and
- at least one vaporiser membrane arranged in the flow channel, the at least one vaporiser membrane extending laterally across the flow channel and having a thickness, taken in a longitudinal direction of the hollow body, which is less than an inner diameter of the hollow body,
- wherein the at least one vaporiser membrane includes a substance containing an active and/or aroma material,
- wherein the substance is vaporisable by a fluid passing through the at least one vaporiser membrane in a fluid stream, and
- wherein the at least one vaporiser membrane is configured such that the fluid passes therethrough in a direction parallel to the longitudinal direction.
A method for volatilising active and/or aroma materials for releasing an inhalable aerosol, comprising:
- flowing a fluid through a flow channel in a hollow body, the fluid in the flow channel entirely or partly flowing through at least one vaporiser membrane in a fluid stream,
- wherein the at least one vaporiser membrane comprises a two-dimensional structure,
- wherein the at least one vaporiser membrane has been and/or is wetted with a substance containing an active and/or aroma material, and
- wherein the fluid additionally contains thermal energy and vaporises the substance on flowing through the at least one vaporiser membrane, the fluid flowing through the at least one vaporiser membrane in a direction parallel to a longitudinal direction of the hollow body;
- and
- supplying the vaporised substance to the fluid stream.
