Abstract
The present disclosure relates to the use of a soluble CD52 glycoprotein in treating diseases regulated by effector T-cells, for example sepsis or multiple sclerosis. The present disclosure also relates to diagnostic methods based on the detection of CD52 expression levels in a subject.
Claims11
A method of treating sepsis in a human subject, the method comprising:
- administering to the human subject a formulation comprising a therapeutically effective amount of a soluble CD52 glycoprotein and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier,
- wherein the soluble CD52 glycoprotein comprises the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:
- 3 (GQNDTSQTSSPS) and a carbohydrate moiety linked thereto.
A method of treating sepsis in a human subject, the method comprising:
- administering to the human subject a composition comprising:
- (i) a therapeutically effective amount of a fusion protein comprising a first protein and a second protein, wherein the first protein is a soluble CD52 glycoprotein having the amino acid sequence of GQNDTSQTSSPS (SEQ ID NO:
- 3) wherein the soluble CD52 glycoprotein comprises a carbohydrate moiety linked thereto;
- and
- (ii) a pharmaceutical acceptable carrier.
