## Abstract

A novel maize variety designated X90H616 and seed, plants and plant parts thereof are produced by crossing inbred maize varieties. Methods for producing a maize plant by crossing hybrid maize variety X90H616 with another maize plant are disclosed. Methods for producing a maize plant containing in its genetic material one or more traits introgressed into X90H616 through backcross conversion and/or transformation, and to the maize seed, plant and plant part produced thereby. This invention relates to the maize variety X90H616, the seed, the plant produced from the seed, and variants, mutants, and minor modifications of maize variety X90H616. This invention further relates to methods for producing maize varieties derived from maize variety X90H616.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A seed of hybrid maize variety X90H616, representative seed produced by crossing a first plant of variety PH2G6T with a second plant of variety PH1M77, wherein representative seed of the varieties PH2G6T and PH1M77 have been deposited under ATCC Accession Numbers PTA-124162 and PTA-122442, respectively.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

A plant of hybrid maize variety X90H616 grown from the seed of claim 1.

### Claim 3 (depends on 2)

A plant part or cell of the plant of claim 2.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

A method of producing the seed of claim 1, the method comprising crossing a plant of variety PH2G6T with a plant of variety PH1M77, wherein representative seed of varieties PH2G6T and PH1M77 have been deposited under ATCC Accession numbers PTA-124162 and PTA-122442, respectively.

### Claim 5

A seed of hybrid maize variety X90H616 further comprising at least a first transgene, representative seed of hybrid maize variety X90H616 produced by crossing a first plant of variety PH2G6T with a second plant of variety PH1M77, wherein representative seed of the varieties PH2G6T and PH1M77 have been deposited under ATCC Accession Numbers PTA-124162 and PTA-122442, respectively.

### Claim 6 (depends on 5)

The seed of claim 5, wherein the transgene confers a property selected from the group consisting of male sterility, herbicide tolerance, insect resistance, disease resistance, waxy starch, modified fatty acid metabolism, modified phytic acid metabolism, modified carbohydrate metabolism and modified protein metabolism.

### Claim 7 (depends on 5)

The hybrid maize variety X90H616 seed of claim 5, further comprising a seed treatment on the surface of the seed.
