Binder and lithium ion battery using the same

A binder for a lithium ion battery, comprising a polymer, wherein the polymer is obtained through emulsion polymerization of a monomer in the presence of a reactive emulsifying agent;

• the monomer comprises at least one compound having a chemical structure of Formula I:
• wherein R11 is hydrogen or R11 is selected from an alkyl group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms;
• R12 is hydrogen or R12 is selected from an alkyl group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms;
• R13 is hydrogen or R13 is selected from an alkyl group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms;
• and R14 is hydrogen or R14 is selected from an alkyl group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms;
• the reactive emulsifying agent is selected from a compound with a chemical structure comprising a moiety of Formula IV:
• wherein R41 is hydrogen or R41 is selected from an alkyl group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms;
• and R42 is hydrogen or R42 is selected from an alkyl group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms.
