Method and apparatus for transmitting reference signal in wireless communication system supporting multiple antennas

A method of transmitting a reference signal by a transmitting end in a wireless communication system supporting multiple antennas, the method comprising:

• transmitting a 1st reference signal with respect to a multitude of 1st domain antennas and a 2nd reference signal with respect to a multitude of 2nd domain antennas,
• wherein the 2nd reference signal is used for antennas among the 2nd domain antennas except an antenna belonging to the 1st domain antennas, and
• wherein transmission power of resource elements (REs) having the 2nd reference signal mapped thereto is power-boosted by as much as

• where N is the number of antennas belonging to both of the 1st domain antennas and the 2nd domain antennas.

A transmitter for transmitting a reference signal in a wireless communication system supporting multiple antennas, the transmitter comprising:

• a radio frequency unit;
• and
• a processor,
• wherein the processor is configured to control the radio frequency unit to transmit a 1st reference signal with respect to a multitude of 1st domain antennas and a 2nd reference signal with respect to a multitude of 2nd domain antennas,
• wherein the 2nd reference signal is used for antennas among the 2nd domain antennas except an antenna belonging to the 1st domain antennas and a specific antenna port,
• wherein the specific antenna port is selected from antenna ports among antenna ports included in the multiple antennas except the 1st domain antennas and the 2nd domain antennas,
• wherein the 1st domain antennas correspond to either vertical antennas or horizontal antennas,
• wherein the 2nd domain antennas correspond to either the vertical antennas or the horizontal antennas, and
• wherein the 1st domain antennas are different from the 2nd domain antennas.

A transmitter for transmitting a reference signal in a wireless communication system supporting multiple antennas, the transmitter comprising:

• a radio frequency unit;
• and
• a processor,
• wherein the processor is configured to control the radio frequency unit to transmit a 1st reference signal with respect to a multitude of 1st domain antennas and a 2nd reference signal with respect to a multitude of 2nd domain antennas,
• wherein the 2nd reference signal is used for antennas among the 2nd domain antennas except an antenna belonging to the 1st domain antennas, and
• wherein transmission power of resource elements (REs) having the 2nd reference signal mapped thereto is power-boosted by as much as
