artificial filaments or fibres D01F; textile treating compositions D06) ## Abstract A coating liquid includes a polymer particle, an aggregating agent for a coloring material, a nonionic surfactant having an HLB value within the range of 15.5 to 20, and water. ## Claims ### Claim 1 A coating liquid comprising: a polymer particle; an aggregating agent for a coloring material; a first nonionic surfactant having an HLB value within the range of 15.5 to 20; a second nonionic surfactant with an HLB value of less than 15.5; and water, wherein a weighted average of the HLB value of the first nonionic surfactant and the second nonionic surfactant is 14.5 or greater. ### Claim 2 (depends on 1) The coating liquid according to claim 1, wherein the aggregating agent for a coloring material is at least one selected from the group consisting of an inorganic acid and an inorganic acid salt. ### Claim 3 (depends on 1) The coating liquid according to claim 1, wherein a content of the first nonionic surfactant is in a range of 10% by weight to 200% by weight, with respect to the weight of the aggregating agent for a coloring material. ### Claim 4 (depends on 2) The coating liquid according to claim 2, wherein a content of the first nonionic surfactant is in a range of 10% by weight to 200% by weight, with respect to the weight of the aggregating agent for a coloring material. ### Claim 5 (depends on 1) A recording medium comprising: a non-permeable base material; and a coating layer that is to be image-recorded with a water-based ink, and is formed on the non-permeable base material by using the coating liquid according to claim 1. ### Claim 6 (depends on 5) The recording medium according to claim 5, wherein the non-permeable base material is a resin film. ### Claim 7 A recording medium comprising: a non-permeable base material; and a coating layer that is to be image-recorded with a water-based ink, is disposed on the non-permeable base material, and contains a polymer, an aggregating agent for a coloring material, a first nonionic surfactant having an HLB value within the range of 15.5 to 20, and a second nonionic surfactant with an HLB value of less than 15.5, wherein a weighted average of the HLB value of the first nonionic surfactant and the second nonionic surfactant is 14.5 or greater. ### Claim 8 (depends on 7) The recording medium according to claim 7, wherein the non-permeable base material is a resin film. ### Claim 9 (depends on 1) The coating liquid according to claim 1, wherein a content of the second nonionic surfactant is in a range of 0.05% by weight to 5% by weight with respect to the weight of the coating liquid.
