## Abstract

A novel soybean variety, designated XBP35012R is provided. Also provided are the seeds of soybean variety XBP35012R, cells from soybean variety XBP35012R, plants of soybean XBP35012R, and plant parts of soybean variety XBP35012R. Methods provided include producing a soybean plant by crossing soybean variety XBP35012R with another soybean plant, methods for introgressing a transgenic trait, a mutant trait, and/or a native trait into soybean variety XBP35012R, methods for producing other soybean varieties or plant parts derived from soybean variety XBP35012R, and methods of characterizing soybean variety XBP35012R. Soybean seed, cells, plants, germplasm, breeding lines, varieties, and plant parts produced by these methods and/or derived from soybean variety XBP35012R are further provided.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A plant, a plant part, or a seed of soybean variety XBP35012R, representative seed of the variety having been deposited under ATCC Accession Number PTA-12413.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

A soybean plant, or part thereof, produced by growing the seed of claim 1.

### Claim 3

A soybean seed obtained by introducing a transgene into soybean variety XBP35012R, wherein the soybean seed otherwise produces a plant expressing all the physiological and morphological characteristics of soybean variety XBP35012R when grown under the same environmental conditions.

### Claim 4 (depends on 3)

The seed of claim 3, wherein the transgene confers a trait selected from the group consisting of male sterility, a site-specific recombination site, abiotic stress tolerance, altered phosphorus, altered antioxidants, altered fatty acids, altered essential amino acids, altered carbohydrates, herbicide resistance, insect resistance, and disease resistance.

### Claim 5 (depends on 3)

The seed of claim 3, wherein the transgene is introduced by backcrossing or transformation.

### Claim 6 (depends on 3)

A soybean plant, or a part thereof, produced by growing the seed of claim 3.

### Claim 7 (depends on 1)

A method for developing a second soybean plant comprising applying plant breeding techniques to the plant of claim 1, wherein application of the techniques results in development of the second soybean plant.

### Claim 8 (depends on 1)

A method for producing soybean seed, the method comprising crossing two soybean plants and harvesting the resultant soybean seed, wherein at least one soybean plant is the soybean plant of claim 1.

### Claim 9 (depends on 8)

An F1 soybean seed produced by the method of claim 8.

### Claim 10 (depends on 9)

An F1 soybean plant, or a part thereof, produced by growing the seed of claim 9.

### Claim 11 (depends on 10)

A method for developing a second soybean plant, the method comprising applying plant breeding techniques to the plant of claim 10, wherein application of the techniques results in development of the second soybean plant.

### Claim 12 (depends on 1)

A method comprising isolating nucleic acids from the plant, plant part, or seed of claim 1.

### Claim 13 (depends on 1)

A method of producing a soybean plant comprising a locus conversion, the method comprising introducing a locus conversion into the plant of claim 1, wherein the locus conversion provides a trait selected from the group consisting of male sterility, a site-specific recombination site, abiotic stress tolerance, altered phosphorus, altered antioxidants, altered fatty acids, altered essential amino acids, altered carbohydrates, herbicide resistance, insect resistance, and disease resistance.

### Claim 14 (depends on 13)

A herbicide-resistant soybean plant produced by the method of claim 13, wherein the soybean plant otherwise expresses all the physiological and morphological characteristics of soybean variety XBP35012R when grown under the same environmental conditions.

### Claim 15 (depends on 13)

A disease-resistant soybean plant produced by the method of claim 13, wherein the soybean plant otherwise expresses all the physiological and morphological characteristics of soybean variety XBP35012R when grown under the same environmental conditions.

### Claim 16 (depends on 13)

An insect-resistant soybean plant produced by the method of claim 13, wherein the soybean plant otherwise expresses all the physiological and morphological characteristics of soybean variety XBP35012R when grown under the same environmental conditions.

### Claim 17 (depends on 16)

The soybean plant of claim 16, wherein the locus conversion comprises a transgene encoding a Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) endotoxin.

### Claim 18 (depends on 13)

The method of claim 13, wherein the locus conversion is introduced by backcrossing or transformation.

### Claim 19

A converted seed, plant, plant part or plant cell, of soybean variety XBP35012R, representative seed of the variety having been deposited under ATCC Accession Number PTA-124130, wherein the converted seed, plant, plant part or plant cell comprises a locus conversion and otherwise produces a plant expressing all the physiological and morphological characteristics of soybean variety XBP35012R when grown under the same environmental conditions.

### Claim 20

A soybean plant, or part thereof, expressing all the physiological and morphological characteristics of soybean variety XBP35012R, representative seed of the variety having been deposited under ATCC Accession Number PTA-124130.
