One of the sides of the main body has a connector portion. The assembly also includes a movable locking assembly that is coupled to the connector portion of the frame element and has one or more elongated locking elements that is movable between a locked position and an unlocked position. The assembly also includes a latch assembly configured for coupling a door to a door frame, and if desired an actuator assembly.
Claims19
A door lock assembly for use with a door, comprising
- a frame element having a main body and a pair of opposed sides forming a channel therebetween, wherein one of the sides has a connector portion, and
- a movable locking assembly pivotally coupled to the connector portion of the frame element and movable between a locked position and an unlocked position,
- wherein the movable locking assembly includes
- at least first and second locking elements each of which has a main body having a locking element connector portion disposed at one end thereof that is sized and dimensioned for mating engagement with the connector portion of the frame element,
- a coupler element having a main body having a first end and a second end, and
- a drive element having a main body having a first end and a second end,
- wherein, when assembled, the first end of the drive element is coupled to the first end of the coupler element, the first locking element is coupled to the second end of the drive element, and the second end of the coupler element is coupled to the second locking element, and
- wherein, when assembled, the movable locking assembly is disposed substantially within the channel formed in the frame element when disposed in the unlocked position, and extends outwardly from the channel of the frame element when disposed in the locked position.
A door lock assembly for mounting within a door channel formed in a door panel, comprising
- a unitary frame element sized and configured for mounting in the door channel and is separate and distinct from the door channel having a main body and a pair of opposed sides forming a channel therebetween, wherein one of the sides has an integral connector portion formed therein, and
- a movable locking assembly pivotally coupled to the connector portion of the frame element and movable between a locked position and an unlocked position,
- wherein the movable locking assembly includes
