Abstract
Provided is a recording medium including an ink receiving layer. The ink receiving layer includes a hydrophilic resin and a low oil absorbing porous silica.

A recording medium comprising:
- a base layer;
- and
- an ink receiving layer provided on the base layer and including
- a hydrophilic resin, and
- a porous silica in particle form that has an oil absorption amount of not more than 15 ml/100 g.

A manufacturing method of a recording medium, the method comprising:
- applying a paint to a base layer, the paint including a hydrophilic resin and a porous silica, the porous silica being in particle form and having an oil absorption amount of not more than 15 ml/100 g;
- and
- emitting UV light on the applied paint for curing.
