Silver ink

A silver ink comprising a silver malonate precursor represented by Formula 2:

• wherein X is oxygen (O), sulfur (S), CR1R2, C(C(O)OAg)2, C(SAg)2, NR1 or NNR1R2;
• wherein R1 and R2, except that both R1 and R2 are hydrogen, are each independently hydrogen, halogen, amino, nitro, cyano, hydroxyl, substituted or unsubstituted C1-C30 alkyl, substituted or unsubstituted C3-C30 cycloalkyl, substituted or unsubstituted C6-C30 aryl, substituted or unsubstituted C6-C30 aralkyl, substituted or unsubstituted C1-C30 heteroalkyl, substituted or unsubstituted C2-C30 heterocycloalkyl, substituted or unsubstituted C5-C30 heteroaryl, substituted or unsubstituted C5-C30 heteroaralkyl, —(CH2)jORa, —(CH2)jC(O)R3, —(CH2)jC(O)ORa, —(CH2)jOC(O)Ra, —CH(C(O)OAg)2, —(CH2)jOAg, —(CH2)jC(O)Ag, —(CH2)jC(O)OAg, —(CH2)jOC(O)Ag, —(CH2)jNRbRc, —(CH2)jC(O)NRbRc, —(CH2)jOC(O)NRbRc, —(CH2)jNRdC(O)Rb, —(CH2)jNRdC(O)ORb, —(CH2)jNRdC(O)NRbRc, —(CH2)jS(O)mRe or —(CH2)jNRdS(O)mA where j is an integer from 0 to 12, in is an integer from 0 to 2, and Ra, Rb, Rc, Rd, and Re are each independently hydrogen, halogen, amino, nitro, cyano, hydroxyl, substituted or unsubstituted C1-C30 alkyl, substituted or unsubstituted C3-C30 cycloalkyl, substituted or unsubstituted C6-C30 aryl, substituted or unsubstituted C6-C30 aralkyl, substituted or unsubstituted C1-C30 heteroalkyl, substituted or unsubstituted C2-C30 heterocycloalkyl, substituted or unsubstituted C5-C30 heteroaryl, or substituted or unsubstituted C5-C30 heteroaralkyl, except that both j and m are zero in case R1 and R2 are each independently —(CH2)jS(O)mRe—.
