Abstract
A laminate nanomold includes a layer of perfluoropolyether defining a cavity that has a predetermined shape and a support layer coupled with the layer of perfluoropolyether. The laminate can also include a tie-layer coupling the layer of perfluoropolyether with the support layer. The tie-layer can also include a photocurable component and a thermal curable component. The cavity can have a broadest dimension of less than 500 nanometers.

A method of making a laminate mold comprising:
- positioning a patterned master comprising a pattern defining structures adjacent to a support layer;
- positioning a polymer material between the patterned master and the support layer;
- engaging the patterned master and support layer with a roller to form a laminate from the patterned master with the support layer, wherein the polymer material is dispersed between the patterned master and the support layer;
- conforming the polymer material in the laminate such that the polymer material conforms to the structures defined in the patterned master to create a mold from the polymer material having structures that substantially mirror the structures of the patterned master;
- and
- removing the patterned master from the mold, wherein the mold is coupled with the support layer and the coupled support layer with mold has a combined modulus at least 200 times the modulus of the mold alone.
A method of making a laminate mold comprising:
- engaging a patterned master comprising a pattern defining a structure with a polymer material against a support layer;
- and
- conforming the polymer material to the structure defined in the patterned master to create a mold from the polymer material having a structure that substantially mirrors at least a portion of the structure of the patterned master,
- wherein the mold coupled with the support layer has a combined modulus at least 200 times the modulus of the mold alone.
A method of making a laminate mold comprising:
- positioning a patterned master comprising a pattern defining a structure adjacent to a support layer;
- positioning a polymer material between the patterned master and the support layer;
- engaging the patterned master and support layer to disperse the polymer material between the patterned master and the support layer such that the polymer material is conformed to the structure defined in the patterned master to create a mold from the polymer material, wherein the mold comprises a structure that substantially mirrors a portion of the structure of the patterned master;
- and
- disengaging the patterned master from the mold, wherein the mold is coupled with the support layer and the coupled support layer with mold has a combined modulus at least 200 times the modulus of the mold alone.
A method of transferring a pattern, comprising:
- rolling a patterned master comprising a pattern defining a structure with a polymer material against a support layer;
- and
- conforming the polymer material to the structure defined in the patterned master to transfer a shape of the structure to the polymer material, wherein the transferred structure substantially mirrors the structure of the patterned master,
- wherein the polymer material coupled with the support layer has a combined modulus at least 200 times the modulus of a sheet of the polymer material alone.
A method of transferring a pattern, comprising:
- positioning a patterned master comprising a pattern adjacent to a support configured to receive the pattern;
- positioning a polymer material between the patterned master and the support;
- engaging the patterned master and the support to disperse the polymer material between the patterned master and the support such that the polymer material conforms to the pattern of the patterned master to transfer the pattern to the polymer material, wherein the pattern transferred to the polymer material substantially mirrors at least a portion of the pattern of the patterned master;
- and
- disengaging the patterned master from the patterned polymer material, wherein the patterned polymer material is coupled with the support and the coupled support with patterned polymer material has a combined modulus at least 200 times the modulus of a sheet of the polymer material alone.
