Abstract
Systems and methods are provided for sample processing. A device may be provided, capable of receiving the sample, and performing one or more of a sample preparation, sample assay, and detection step. The device may be capable of performing multiple assays. The device may comprise one or more modules that may be capable of performing one or more of a sample preparation, sample assay, and detection step. The device may be capable of performing the steps using a small volume of sample.
Claims17
A sample processing device comprising:
- a sample handling system, wherein the sample handling system comprises at least one pipette nozzle and wherein the at least one pipette nozzle is configured to engage with a pipette tip;
- at least one detector;
- a cartridge receiving location;
- a forced convection heater;
- a filtered outlet through which exhaust air flows out of the device;
- an exhaust fan in the filtered outlet;
- a plurality of temperature sensors, wherein the plurality of temperature sensors are located at different locations in the device;
- and
- a first convective flow device on an underside of the cartridge receiving location.
