Abstract
Provided in the present invention is an application for PRDX2 and/or PRDX6 in the preparation of a pharmaceutical composition to treat or prevent damage, aging or diseases resulting from an increase in reactive oxygen species (ROS).

A method for improving sperm quality or treatment of male infertility, which comprises administrating (i) PRDX2 protein, or (ii) a composition comprising (a) PRDX2 protein and (b) a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier to an asthenospermia patient,
- wherein the PRDX2 protein comprises the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:
- 4, or the amino acid sequence from position 6 to 164 of SEQ ID NO:
- 4, or a fusion protein thereof formed with an His expression tag.
