Materials handling system, striated patterned product, and process of forming a patterned product

A process for forming a product, the process comprising:

• mixing colored particles into a uniform distribution with a rotating agitator and a grid arranged downstream of the rotating agitator, the rotating agitator comprising a first paddle that breaks the colored particles against the grid during rotation;
• receiving the uniform distribution of the colored particles;
• and
• forming a product with a pattern using calendering rolls;
• wherein the pattern is a long-grained, striated, or jaspe-grained color pattern.

A process for forming a product, the process comprising:

• mixing colored particles into a uniform distribution with a rotating agitator and a grid arranged downstream of the rotating agitator, the rotating agitator comprising:
• a first paddle, wherein the first paddle is rotationally driven by a drive shaft, an outer-most edge of the first paddle defines a path of travel about a rotational axis of the drive shaft, and an upper portion of the grid is contoured to be substantially adjacent to a portion of the path of travel;
• receiving the uniform distribution of the colored particles;
• and
• forming a product with a pattern using calendering rolls;
• wherein the pattern is a long-grained, striated, or jaspe-grained color pattern.
