Abstract
A composition comprising at least one graphene-supported metal oxide monolith, said monolith comprising a three-dimensional structure of graphene sheets crosslinked by covalent carbon bonds, wherein the graphene sheets are coated by at least one metal oxide such as iron oxide or titanium oxide. Also provided is an electrode comprising the aforementioned graphene-supported metal oxide monolith, wherein the electrode can be substantially free of any carbon-black and substantially free of any binder.
Claims17
A composition comprising at least one graphene-supported metal oxide monolith, said monolith comprising (i) a three-dimensional network of graphene sheets crosslinked by covalent carbon bonds, and (ii) at least one metal oxide embedded inside said three-dimensional network, wherein the graphene-supported metal oxide monolith is mesoporous, wherein the graphene-supported metal oxide monolith has a surface area of at least 500 m2/g, wherein the metal oxide accounts for 40-80 wt. % of the graphene-supported metal oxide monolith, and wherein the metal oxide comprises manganese, iron, cobalt, nickel, copper, zinc, zirconium, tin, silicon, aluminum, chromium, vanadium, titanium, or combinations thereof.
