A vessel with a hydrodynamic duct for flow management at a bow thereof, comprising a duct having a horizontal wall portion extending on either side of a frontal edge of the bow and a pair of lateral walls connected at ends of said horizontal wall portion and extending upwardly, said pair of lateral walls having one lateral wall on each side of the bow, wherein water flow within said duct is differentiated from water flow outside said duct,
- wherein the bow is defined as having longitudinally extending rectilinear side walls on either side of a central axis of symmetry of the vessel, said rectilinear side walls extending vertically upwardly exhibiting a flare relative to a vertical direction;
- said duct being displaceable in said vertical direction between an upper end position and a lower end position of said horizontal wall portion thereof, and
- said pair of lateral walls being configured so that, in any position taken by a vertically displaceable horizontal plane passing through the waterline, the horizontal section of said pair of lateral walls follows the flare of the bow with the trailing edge of a horizontal section of said pair of lateral walls being maintained at a constant equal distance from said rectilinear side walls of the bow, wherein said distance from said rectilinear side walls of the bow is being defined by a perpendicular to said rectilinear side walls of the bow taken from the trailing edge of said horizontal section of said pair of lateral walls that is configured to correspond to waterline.
