Abstract
An inkjet printhead assembly includes: a plurality of printhead segments arranged in two parallel rows in a staggered overlapping arrangement; and a slotted shield plate positioned relative to the printhead segments. Each of the printhead segments is exposed through the slotted shield plate.

An inkjet printhead assembly comprising:
- a plurality of printhead segments arranged in two parallel rows in a staggered overlapping arrangement;
- and
- a slotted shield plate positioned relative to the printhead segments,
- wherein each of the printhead segments is exposed through the slotted shield plate.

A method of ejecting ink from an inkjet printhead assembly, said method comprising the steps of:
- supplying the ink to each of a plurality of printhead segments arranged in two parallel rows in a staggered overlapping arrangement;
- and
- ejecting the ink from the plurality of printhead segments,
- wherein a slotted shield plate is positioned relative to the printhead segments, and each of the printhead segments is exposed through the slotted shield plate.
