Abstract
Apparatus for use in isolating a subject, the apparatus including a frame movable between collapsed and erected configurations, a body supported by the frame, wherein in the erected configuration, the body defines an internal volume for containing a subject to thereby substantially isolate the subject from a surrounding environment and a door actuator supported by the frame for moving a door between open and closed positions to thereby provide access to the internal volume.
Claims10
Apparatus configured for use in isolating a subject, the apparatus including:
- (a) a frame including:
- (i) a number of upright legs wherein the number of upright legs are telescopic, allowing the frame to be moved between lowered and raised positions;
- and,
- (ii) a number of lateral connecting members interconnecting the number of upright legs, wherein the connecting members include scissor arms movable between retracted and extended positions, wherein the frame can be provided in:
- a collapsed configuration with the frame lowered and scissor arms retracted;
- and
- an erected configuration with the frame raised and the scissor arms extended;
- and
- (iii) wheels that movably support the frame on a surface;
- (b) a body supported by and mounted inwardly of the frame;
- and,
- (c) a panel mounted on an outside of the frame, the panel including at least one mounting that receives medical items, the at least one mounting being at least one of a pocket, a shelf, a clip, a rack and a receptacle, and wherein:
- (i) in the erected configuration, the body defines an internal volume substantially surrounding a subject to thereby substantially isolate the subject from a surrounding environment, with the at least one mounting being on the outside of the frame so that the medical items can be supported by the at least one mounting and accessed from outside of the body;
- and,
- (ii) in the collapsed configuration, the wheels allow the apparatus to be moved, with the medical items being supported by the at least one mounting on the outside of the frame so that the medical items can be accessed, thereby allowing the apparatus to function as a trolley.
