Abstract
There is disclosed a device comprising two wire rope isolators for isolating an object from external motions. The wire rope isolators are arranged such that, if one of the two wire rope isolators is loaded in compression, then the other wire rope isolator is loaded in tension.

A device for isolating an object from external motions, wherein the device comprises:
- a first wire rope isolator and a second wire rope isolator,
- the first wire rope isolator and the second wire rope isolator being arranged such that, if the first wire rope isolator is loaded in compression, then the second wire rope isolator is loaded in tension,
- the first wire rope isolator comprising two first retainer bars and at least one first cable for flexibly connecting the two first retainer bars one to the other,
- the second wire rope isolator comprising two second retainer bars and at least one second cable for flexibly connecting the two second retainer bars one to the other,
- linear guiding means for a relative displacement of one of the two first retainer bars or the two second retainer bars with respect to the other retainer bars in a single direction, the direction being a common tension-compression direction of the first wire rope isolator and the second wire rope isolator,
- wherein at least one of the first wire rope isolator or the second wire rope isolator is at least one of a polycal wire rope isolator, a helical wire rope isolator or a ring-type wire rope isolator.

A device for isolating an object from external motions, wherein the device comprises:
- a first wire rope isolator and a second wire rope isolator,
- the first wire rope isolator and the second wire rope isolator being arranged such that, if the first wire rope isolator is loaded in compression, then the second wire rope isolator is loaded in tension,
- the first wire rope isolator comprising two first retainer bars and at least one first cable for flexibly connecting the two first retainer bars one to the other,
- the second wire rope isolator comprising two second retainer bars and at least one second cable for flexibly connecting the two second retainer bars one to the other,
- linear guiding means for a relative displacement of one of the two first retainer bars or the two second retainer bars with respect to the other retainer bars in a single direction, the direction being a common tension-compression direction of the first wire rope isolator and the second wire rope isolator,
- means to limit rotation around the common tension-compression direction of the first wire rope isolator and the second wire rope isolator.
