## Abstract

The present invention relates to cyclic cationic peptides and their use in the treatment of microbial infections.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A topical pharmaceutical composition comprising a cyclic peptide and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, excipient or diluent; wherein the cyclic peptide comprises from 5 to 13 contiguous arginine residues.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

### Claim 3 (depends on 2)

The cyclic peptide of claim 2, wherein the arginine residues are D-amino acids.

### Claim 4 (depends on 2)

The cyclic peptide of claim 2, wherein the arginine residues are L-amino acids.

### Claim 5

A composition consisting essentially of a cyclic peptide and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, excipient or diluent; wherein the cyclic peptide comprises from 5 to 13 contiguous arginine residues.

### Claim 6 (depends on 5)

The composition of claim 5, wherein the cyclic peptide comprises 7 contiguous arginine residues.
