## Abstract

A bag stand includes at least two side panels, each side panel having a top end, a bottom end, and two adjacent side ends, each side panel connected to at least one adjacent side panel, the side panels forming the bag stand having a top end and a bottom end, the bag stand defining a top opening, a bottom opening, and an interior, the top opening sized to accept a refuse bag; and at least one connection mechanism included on each of at least two side panels for connecting to at least one adjacent side panel.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A bag stand comprising:
at least two subpanels, each subpanel being a unitary panel, each subpanel including at least two side panels, each side panel having a top end, a bottom end, and two adjacent side ends, each side panel connected to an adjacent side panel, each of the at least two subpanels connected to each other, the subpanels forming the bag stand when connecting the at least two subpanels together, the bag stand having a top end and a bottom end, the bag stand defining a top opening, a bottom opening, and an interior, the top opening sized to accept a refuse bag; and
at least one connection mechanism included on each of the at least two subpanels for connecting to at least one adjacent subpanel, each connection mechanism including a connection finger and a connection recess, the connection finger connected proximate to a first end of each subpanel and the connection recess defined proximate to a second end of each subpanel, the connection finger including a clearance portion and a clasp portion and the connection recess including a clearance portion and a lock portion, the clearance portion of the connection recess of a first subpanel of the at least two subpanels sized to receive the clasp portion of the connection finger of a second subpanel of the at least two subpanels, the clasp portion configured to slide downward into the lock portion after the clearance portion of the connection finger passes fully into the clearance portion of the connection recess.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The bag stand of claim 1, wherein the first subpanel of the at least two subpanels is a first half panel and the second subpanel of the at least two subpanels is a second half panel.

### Claim 3 (depends on 2)

The bag stand of claim 2, wherein each of the first half panel and the second half panel includes four side panels.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The bag stand of claim 1, wherein each side panel is connected to at least one adjacent side panel, each side panel being oriented at about forty-five degrees with respect to each adjacent side panel.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

The bag stand of claim 1, wherein the bag stand is formed of blow-molded plastic.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The bag stand of claim 1, wherein the connection finger of the second subpanel is not removable from the connection recess of the first subpanel without first raising the clearance portion of the connection finger above the lock portion of the connection recess.

### Claim 7 (depends on 1)

The bag stand of claim 1, wherein a side end of a first side panel of the at least two side panels defines a matching slope angled with respect to an inner surface and an outer surface of the first side panel.

### Claim 8 (depends on 7)

The subpanel of claim 7, wherein a connection finger protrudes from the matching slope.

### Claim 9 (depends on 7)

The subpanel of claim 7, wherein the matching slope is angled at 45 degrees with respect to the inner surface and the outer surface of the first side panel.

### Claim 10 (depends on 7)

The subpanel of claim 7, wherein the matching slope is configured to align flushly the side end of the first side panel with a one of an inner surface and an outer surface of the second subpanel.

### Claim 11

A subpanel for a bag stand, the subpanel comprising:
at least two side panels, each side panel having a top end, a bottom end, two adjacent side ends, an inner surface, an outer surface, and a thickness defined from the inner surface to the outer surface, a first side panel of the at least two side panels connected to a second side panel of the at least two side panels with a living hinge proximate to the outer surface of each side panel, a clearance void defined between a side end of the first side panel and an adjacent side end of the second side panel, the clearance void distal from the outer surface of each side panel when the subpanel is in a flattened arrangement to allow room for the second side panel to flex at the living hinge with respect to the first side panel; and
at least one connection mechanism for connecting the subpanel to a second subpanel, the connection mechanism including a connection finger and a connection recess; wherein the connection finger is connected to the first side panel and the connection recess is defined in the second side panel, the connection finger including a clearance portion and a clasp portion and the connection recess including a clearance portion and a lock portion, the clearance portion of the connection recess sized to receive a clasp portion of a connection finger of the second subpanel, the clasp portion configured to slide downward into the lock portion after the connection finger passes fully into the clearance portion of the connection recess.

### Claim 12 (depends on 11)

The subpanel of claim 11, wherein a one of the first side panel and the second side panel defines a panel foot cutout in the bottom end of the one of the first side panel and the second side panel.

### Claim 13 (depends on 11)

The subpanel of claim 11, wherein the connection finger is not removable from the connection recess without first raising the clearance portion of the connection finger above the lock portion of the connection recess.

### Claim 14 (depends on 11)

The subpanel of claim 11, wherein a side end of the first side panel defines a matching slope angled with respect to an inner surface and an outer surface of the first side panel.

### Claim 15 (depends on 14)

The subpanel of claim 14, wherein a connection finger protrudes from the matching slope.

### Claim 16 (depends on 14)

The subpanel of claim 14, wherein the matching slope is angled at 45 degrees with respect to the inner surface and the outer surface of the first side panel.

### Claim 17 (depends on 14)

The subpanel of claim 14, wherein the matching slope is configured to align flushly the side end of the first side panel with a one of an inner surface and an outer surface of the second subpanel.
