The hinged slider includes a top wall, a pair of legs that extends vertically from the top wall, and a pair of wings hingedly attached to the pair of legs. In one embodiment, the pair of wings hinges upwardly in order to install the slider onto the closure assembly. In another embodiment, the pair of wings hinges downwardly in order to install the slider onto the closure assembly. A storage bag is also provided, in which the storage bag includes at least one zipper profile and a hinged slider in a straddling relation with the zipper profile. ## Claims ### Claim 1 A hinged slider for a closure assembly of a bag, the hinged slider comprising: (A) a top wall; (B) a pair of legs that extends vertically from the top wall, wherein (a) a first leg of the pair of legs comprises a top end attached to the top wall and a bottom end opposing the top end, the top end including an opening, and (b) a second leg of the pair of legs comprises a top end attached to the top wall and a bottom end opposing the top end, the top end including an opening; and (C) a pair of wings hingedly attached to the pair of legs, wherein (a) a first wing of the pair of wings includes (i) a hinge at a bottom end of the first wing, such that the bottom end of the first wing is hingedly attached to the bottom end of the first leg, and (ii) a latch at a top end of the first wing that opposes the bottom end of the first wing, the latch configured to engage with the opening at the top end of the first leg, and (b) a second wing of the pair of wings includes (i) a hinge at a bottom end of the second wing, such that the bottom end of the second wing is hingedly attached to the bottom end of the second leg, and (ii) a latch at a top end of the second wing that opposes the bottom end of the second wing, the latch configured to engage with the opening at the top end of the second leg, wherein the first wing and the second wing hinge upwardly in order (i) to latch the first wing to the first leg and the second wing to the second leg, and (ii) to install the slider onto the closure assembly. ### Claim 2 (depends on 1) The slider according to claim 1, further comprising a support member that extends from the top wall of the slider and is disposed between the pair of legs and the pair of wings, the support member including a second zipper profile opening member. ### Claim 3 (depends on 2) The slider according to claim 2, wherein the support member includes at least one retention member for assisting in retaining the slider on the closure assembly. ### Claim 4 (depends on 2) The slider according to claim 2, further comprising a first zipper profile opening member that extends from the top wall of the slider. ### Claim 5 (depends on 4) The slider according to claim 4, wherein the first zipper profile opening member is attached to the support member. ### Claim 6 (depends on 4) The slider according to claim 4, wherein the first zipper profile opening member includes at least one retention member for assisting in retaining the slider on the closure assembly. ### Claim 7 (depends on 1) The slider according to claim 1, further comprising at least a first closing bar on the first wing and at least a second closing bar on the second wing, wherein the first and second closing bars are configured to occlude closure elements of the closure assembly. ### Claim 8 (depends on 1) The slider according to claim 1, further comprising a first finger pad on the first wing and a second finger pad on the second wing, wherein the first and second finger pads each have an elliptical shape to provide a slider with an improved ergonomic feel. ### Claim 9 (depends on 8) The slider according to claim 8, wherein the major axis dimension of the elliptical shape of the first and second finger pads is from about 12.0 mm to about 19.0 mm, and the minor axis dimension of the elliptical shape of the first and second finger pads is from about 10.5 mm to about 16.0 mm. ### Claim 10 (depends on 8) The slider according to claim 8, wherein the first and second finger pads each comprises gripping ridges. ### Claim 11 A storage bag comprising: (A) a first sidewall; (B) a second sidewall connected to the first sidewall so as to form an interior of the bag with an opening to the interior; (C) a zipper profile positioned adjacent to the opening of the bag, the zipper profile comprising (a) a first closure element attached to the first sidewall and (b) a second closure element attached to the second sidewall and extending substantially parallel to the first closure element, the first closure element and the second closure element both extending along the length of the zipper profile between a first side of the zipper profile and a second side of the zipper profile, and the first closure element being configured to interlock with the second closure element to form a seal for the opening of the bag; and (D) a hinged slider positioned in a straddling relation with the zipper profile, the slider including: (a) a top wall, (b) a pair of legs that extends vertically from the top wall, wherein (i) a first leg of the pair of legs comprises a top end attached to the top wall and a bottom end opposing the top end, the top end including an opening, and (ii) a second leg of the pair of legs comprises a top end attached to the top wall and a bottom end opposing the top end, the top end including an opening; and (c) a pair of wings hingedly attached to the pair of legs, wherein (i) a first wing of the pair of wings includes (1) a hinge at a bottom end of the first wing, such that the bottom end of the first wing is hingedly attached to the bottom end of the first leg, and (2) a latch at a top end of the first wing that opposes the bottom end of the first wing, the latch configured to engage with the opening at the top end of the first leg, and (ii) a second wing of the pair of wings includes (1) a hinge at a bottom end of the second wing, such that the bottom end of the second wing is hingedly attached to the bottom end of the second leg, and (2) a latch at a top end of the second wing that opposes the bottom end of the second wing, the latch configured to engage with the opening at the top end of the second leg, wherein the first wing and the second wing hinge upwardly in order (i) to latch the first wing to the first leg and the second wing to the second leg, and (ii) to install the slider onto the zipper profile. ### Claim 12 (depends on 11) The storage bag according to claim 11, wherein the zipper profile is an upper zipper profile and the storage bag further comprises a lower zipper profile positioned underneath the upper zipper profile, the lower zipper profile comprising (i) a third closure element attached to the first sidewall and (ii) a fourth closure element attached to the second sidewall and extending substantially parallel to the third closure element, the third closure element and the fourth closure element both extending along the length of the lower zipper profile between a first side of the lower zipper profile and a second side of the lower zipper profile, and the third closure element being configured to interlock with the fourth closure element to form a second seal for the opening of the bag. ### Claim 13 (depends on 12) The storage bag according to claim 12, wherein the slider further includes a support member that extends from the top wall of the slider, the support member comprising a first zipper profile opening member and a second zipper profile opening member, such that the second zipper profile opening member is disposed in the area between the upper zipper profile and the lower zipper profile. ### Claim 14 (depends on 13) The storage bag according to claim 13, wherein the second zipper profile opening member includes a first shoulder member and a second shoulder member that are each disposed in the area between the upper zipper profile and the lower zipper profile. ### Claim 15 (depends on 14) The storage bag according to claim 14, wherein the first shoulder member and the second shoulder member are configured to de-occlude the third and fourth closure elements of the lower zipper profile. ### Claim 16 (depends on 13) The storage bag according to claim 13, wherein the first zipper profile opening member and the second zipper profile opening member of the support member are configured such that the first zipper profile opening member de-occludes the first and second closure elements of the upper zipper profile and the second zipper profile opening member de-occludes the third and fourth closure elements of the lower zipper profile without extending through the third and fourth closure elements. ### Claim 17 (depends on 13) The storage bag according to claim 13, wherein the support member includes at least one retention member for assisting in retaining the slider on the upper and lower zipper profiles. ### Claim 18 (depends on 13) The storage bag according to claim 13, further comprising a detent at at least one end of the bag, the detent configured to engage with at least the second zipper profile opening member to provide a leakproof seal along the length of the bag. ### Claim 19 (depends on 11) The storage bag according to claim 11, wherein the slider further comprises at least a first closing bar on the first wing and at least a second closing bar on the second wing, wherein the first and second closing bars are configured to occlude closure elements of the zipper profile. ### Claim 20 (depends on 11) The storage bag according to claim 11, wherein the slider further comprises a first finger pad on the first wing and a second finger pad on the second wing, wherein the first and second finger pads each have an elliptical shape to provide a slider with an improved ergonomic feel. ### Claim 21 (depends on 20) The storage bag according to claim 20, wherein the major axis dimension of the elliptical shape of the first and second finger pads is from about 12.0 mm to about 19.0 mm, and the minor axis dimension of the elliptical shape of the first and second finger pads is from about 10.5 mm to about 16.0 mm. ### Claim 22 (depends on 20) The storage bag according to claim 20, wherein the first and second finger pads each comprises gripping ridges. ### Claim 23 A hinged slider for a closure assembly of a bag, the hinged slider comprising: (A) a top wall; (B) a pair of legs that extends vertically from the top wall, wherein (a) a first leg of the pair of legs comprises a top end attached to the top wall and a bottom end opposing the top end, and (b) a second leg of the pair of legs comprises a top end attached to the top wall and a bottom end opposing the top end; and (C) a pair of wings hingedly attached to the pair of legs, wherein (a) a first wing of the pair of wings includes (i) a hinge at a bottom end of the first wing, such that the bottom end of the first wing is hingedly attached to the bottom end of the first leg, and (ii) an opening at a top end of the first wing that opposes the bottom end of the first wing, and (b) a second wing of the pair of wings includes (i) a hinge at a bottom end of the second wing, such that the bottom end of the second wing is hingedly attached to the bottom end of the second leg, and (ii) a latch at a top end of the second wing that opposes the bottom end of the second wing, the latch configured to engage with the opening at the top end of the first wing, wherein the first wing and the second wing hinge upwardly in order (i) to latch the first wing to the second wing, and (ii) to install the slider onto the closure assembly. ### Claim 24 (depends on 23) The slider according to claim 23, further comprising a support member that extends from the top wall of the slider and is disposed between the pair of legs and the pair of wings, the support member including a second zipper profile opening member. ### Claim 25 (depends on 24) The slider according to claim 24, wherein the support member includes at least one retention member for assisting in retaining the slider on the closure assembly. ### Claim 26 (depends on 24) The slider according to claim 24, further comprising a first zipper profile opening member that extends from the top wall of the slider. ### Claim 27 (depends on 26) The slider according to claim 26, wherein the first zipper profile opening member is attached to the support member. ### Claim 28 (depends on 26) The slider according to claim 26, wherein the first zipper profile opening member includes at least one retention member for assisting in retaining the slider on the closure assembly. ### Claim 29 (depends on 23) The slider according to claim 23, further comprising at least a first closing bar on the first wing and at least a second closing bar on the second wing, wherein the first and second closing bars are configured to occlude closure elements of the closure assembly. ### Claim 30 (depends on 23) The slider according to claim 23, further comprising a first finger pad on the first wing and a second finger pad on the second wing, wherein the first and second finger pads each have an elliptical shape to provide a slider with an improved ergonomic feel. ### Claim 31 (depends on 30) The slider according to claim 30, wherein the major axis dimension of the elliptical shape of the first and second finger pads is from about 12.0 mm to about 19.0 mm, and the minor axis dimension of the elliptical shape of the first and second finger pads is from about 10.5 mm to about 16.0 mm. ### Claim 32 (depends on 30) The slider according to claim 30, wherein the first and second finger pads each comprises gripping ridges. ### Claim 33 A storage bag comprising: (A) a first sidewall; (B) a second sidewall connected to the first sidewall so as to form an interior of the bag with an opening to the interior; (C) a zipper profile positioned adjacent to the opening of the bag, the zipper profile comprising (a) a first closure element attached to the first sidewall and (b) a second closure element attached to the second sidewall and extending substantially parallel to the first closure element, the first closure element and the second closure element both extending along the length of the zipper profile between a first side of the zipper profile and a second side of the zipper profile, and the first closure element being configured to interlock with the second closure element to form a seal for the opening of the bag; and (D) a hinged slider positioned in a straddling relation with the zipper profile, the slider including: (a) a top wall, (b) a pair of legs that extends vertically from the top wall, wherein (i) a first leg of the pair of legs comprises a top end attached to the top wall and a bottom end opposing the top end, and (ii) a second leg of the pair of legs comprises a top end attached to the top wall and a bottom end opposing the top end; and (c) a pair of wings hingedly attached to the pair of legs, wherein (i) a first wing of the pair of wings includes (1) a hinge at a bottom end of the first wing, such that the bottom end of the first wing is hingedly attached to the bottom end of the first leg, and (2) an opening at a top end of the first wing that opposes the bottom end of the first wing, and (ii) a second wing of the pair of wings includes (1) a hinge at a bottom end of the second wing, such that the bottom end of the second wing is hingedly attached to the bottom end of the second leg, and (2) a latch at a top end of the second wing that opposes the bottom end of the second wing, the latch configured to engage with the opening at the top end of the first wing, wherein the first wing and the second wing hinge upwardly in order (i) to latch the first wing to the second wing, and (ii) to install the slider onto the closure assembly. ### Claim 34 (depends on 33) The storage bag according to claim 33, wherein the zipper profile is an upper zipper profile and the storage bag further comprises a lower zipper profile positioned underneath the upper zipper profile, the lower zipper profile comprising (i) a third closure element attached to the first sidewall and (ii) a fourth closure element attached to the second sidewall and extending substantially parallel to the third closure element, the third closure element and the fourth closure element both extending along the length of the lower zipper profile between a first side of the lower zipper profile and a second side of the lower zipper profile, and the third closure element being configured to interlock with the fourth closure element to form a second seal for the opening of the bag. ### Claim 35 (depends on 34) The storage bag according to claim 34, wherein the slider further includes a support member that extends from the top wall of the slider, the support member comprising a first zipper profile opening member and a second zipper profile opening member, such that the second zipper profile opening member is disposed in the area between the upper zipper profile and the lower zipper profile. ### Claim 36 (depends on 35) The storage bag according to claim 35, wherein the second zipper profile opening member includes a first shoulder member and a second shoulder member that are each disposed in the area between the upper zipper profile and the lower zipper profile. ### Claim 37 (depends on 36) The storage bag according to claim 36, wherein the first shoulder member and the second shoulder member are configured to de-occlude the third and fourth closure elements of the lower zipper profile. ### Claim 38 (depends on 35) The storage bag according to claim 35, wherein the first zipper profile opening member and the second zipper profile opening member of the support member are configured such that the first zipper profile opening member de-occludes the first and second closure elements of the upper zipper profile and the second zipper profile opening member de-occludes the third and fourth closure elements of the lower zipper profile without extending through the third and fourth closure elements. ### Claim 39 (depends on 35) The storage bag according to claim 35, wherein the support member includes at least one retention member for assisting in retaining the slider on the upper and lower zipper profiles. ### Claim 40 (depends on 35) The storage bag according to claim 35, further comprising a detent at at least one end of the bag, the detent configured to engage with at least the second zipper profile opening member to provide a leakproof seal along the length of the bag. ### Claim 41 (depends on 33) The storage bag according to claim 33, wherein the slider further comprises at least a first closing bar on the first wing and at least a second closing bar on the second wing, wherein the first and second closing bars are configured to occlude closure elements of the zipper profile. ### Claim 42 (depends on 33) The storage bag according to claim 33, wherein the slider further comprises a first finger pad on the first wing and a second finger pad on the second wing, wherein the first and second finger pads each have an elliptical shape to provide a slider with an improved ergonomic feel. ### Claim 43 (depends on 42) The storage bag according to claim 42, wherein the major axis dimension of the elliptical shape of the first and second finger pads is from about 12.0 mm to about 19.0 mm, and the minor axis dimension of the elliptical shape of the first and second finger pads is from about 10.5 mm to about 16.0 mm. ### Claim 44 (depends on 42) The storage bag according to claim 42, wherein the first and second finger pads each comprises gripping ridges.
