## Abstract

A novel maize variety designated X90D300 and seed, plants and plant parts thereof, produced by crossing Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc. proprietary inbred maize varieties. Methods for producing a maize plant that comprises crossing hybrid maize variety X90D300 with another maize plant. Methods for producing a maize plant containing in its genetic material one or more traits introgressed into X90D300 through backcross conversion and/or transformation, and to the maize seed, plant and plant part produced thereby. This invention relates to the maize variety X90D300, the seed, the plant produced from the seed, and variants, mutants, and minor modifications of maize variety X90D300. This invention further relates to methods for producing maize varieties derived from maize variety X90D300.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A hybrid maize variety X90D300 seed, wherein representative seed is produced by crossing a first plant of variety PH1MC9 with a second plant of variety PH1MDK, and wherein representative seed of said varieties PH1MC9 and PH1MDK have been deposited under ATCC Accession Number PTA-120329 and PTA-122897, respectively.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The hybrid maize variety X90D300 seed of claim 1, wherein a seed treatment has been applied to the seed.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

A method comprising cleaning the hybrid maize variety X90D300 seed of claim 1.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

A method comprising isolating nucleic acids from the hybrid maize variety X90D300 seed of claim 1.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

A plant, plant part, or plant cell produced by growing the hybrid maize variety X90D300 seed of claim 1, wherein the plant part and plant cell comprise at least one cell of hybrid maize variety X90D300.

### Claim 6 (depends on 5)

A method comprising isolating nucleic acids from the plant, plant part, or plant cell of claim 5.

### Claim 7 (depends on 5)

A method of producing a commodity plant product comprising obtaining the plant or plant part of claim 5 and producing said commodity plant product therefrom.

### Claim 8 (depends on 5)

A method for producing a second maize plant comprising applying plant breeding techniques to a first maize plant, or parts thereof, wherein said first maize plant is the maize plant of claim 5, and wherein application of said techniques results in the production of said second maize plant.

### Claim 9 (depends on 8)

The method of claim 8 comprising:
(a) crossing said first maize plant with itself or another maize plant to produce seed of a subsequent generation;
(b) harvesting and planting the seed of the subsequent generation to produce at least one plant of the subsequent generation; and
(c) repeating steps (a) and (b) for an additional 2-10 generations to produce the second maize plant.

### Claim 10 (depends on 8)

The method of claim 8 comprising:
(a) crossing said first maize plant with an inducer variety to produce haploid seed; and
(b) doubling the haploid seed to produce the second maize plant.

### Claim 11

A hybrid maize variety X90D300 seed further comprising a locus conversion, wherein said seed is produced by crossing a first plant of variety PH1MC9 with a second plant of variety PH1MDK; wherein representative seed of said varieties PH1MC9 and PH1MDK have been deposited under ATCC Accession Number PTA-120329 and PTA-122897, respectively; and wherein at least one of said varieties PH1MC9 and PH1MDK further comprises a locus conversion; wherein said seed of hybrid maize variety X90D300 further comprising a locus conversion produces a plant which otherwise has all of the morphological and physiological characteristics as X90D300 listed in Table 1 when grown in the same environmental conditions.

### Claim 12 (depends on 11)

The hybrid maize variety X90D300 seed further comprising a locus conversion of claim 11, wherein a seed treatment has been applied to the hybrid maize variety X90D300 seed further comprising a locus conversion.

### Claim 13 (depends on 11)

A method comprising cleaning the hybrid maize variety X90D300 seed further comprising a locus conversion of claim 11.

### Claim 14 (depends on 11)

The hybrid maize variety X90D300 seed further comprising a locus conversion of claim 11, wherein the locus conversion confers a trait selected from the group consisting of male sterility, site-specific recombination, abiotic stress tolerance, altered phosphorus, altered antioxidants, altered fatty acids, altered essential amino acids, altered carbohydrates, herbicide tolerance, insect resistance and disease resistance.

### Claim 15 (depends on 11)

A method comprising isolating nucleic acids from the hybrid maize variety X90D300 seed further comprising a locus conversion according to claim 11.

### Claim 16 (depends on 11)

A plant, plant part, or plant cell produced by growing the hybrid maize variety X90D300 seed further comprising a locus conversion of claim 11, and wherein the plant part and plant cell comprise at least one cell of the hybrid maize variety X90D300 further comprising the locus conversion.

### Claim 17 (depends on 16)

A method comprising isolating nucleic acids from the plant, plant part, or plant cell of claim 16.

### Claim 18 (depends on 16)

A method of producing a commodity plant product comprising obtaining the plant or plant part of claim 16 and producing said commodity plant product therefrom.

### Claim 19 (depends on 16)
