Claims18
A Chikungunya virus (CHIKV) or Venezuelan equine encephalitis virus (VEEV) virus-like particle, wherein said virus-like particle contains at least one malaria antigen inserted into an E2 envelope protein to form a fusion protein,
- wherein said at least one malaria antigen is inserted within a CHIKV E2 envelope protein at a site that corresponds in position to a site between residues 509-512, the site between residues 519-520, the site between residues 529-530, or the site between residues 531-532 of SEQ ID NO:
- 1 or 2;
- or wherein said at least one antigen is inserted within a VEEV E2 envelope protein at a site that corresponds in position to a site between residues 515-520, or a site between residues 536-539 of SEQ ID NO:
- 3,
- and wherein said at least one malaria antigen is selected from the group consisting of (a) and (b):
- (a) (NPNA)n, wherein n is from 4 to 30;
- and
- (b) (EYLNKIQNSLSTEWSPCSVT)y, wherein y is from 1 to 6.
An isolated nucleic acid molecule consisting of a nucleotide sequence which has a sequence identity of 90% or more with a nucleotide sequence represented by SEQ ID Nos.26-27, 29-30, 32-33, 35-36, 38, 40 or 42.
