Abstract
A flow heater is provided including a heating element, a channel heated by said heating element for heating liquid flowing therethrough, and temperature sensing means in thermal communication with both the heating element and the channel so as to be sensitive to the temperature of the liquid in the channel and the temperature of the heating element.

A flow heater comprising a heating element, a channel heated by said heating element for heating liquid flowing therethrough, wherein the heating element is outside the channel and is mounted to or in contact with an outer wall of the channel and wherein the heating element and channel comprise a contact area bridging the heating element and the channel, the flow heater further comprising a temperature sensor arranged outside the channel in thermal communication with the contact area bridging both the heating element and the channel so as to be sensitive to the temperature of the liquid in the channel and the temperature of the heating element.
