Abstract
An image forming apparatus includes a plurality of devices configured to perform different job processing, a control unit configured to control job processing performed by each device, a reception unit configured to receive an instruction for causing the control unit to shift to a state where the job processing is capable of being performed, and a power control unit configured to, when the control unit is shifted to a stand-by state in response to receiving the instruction, supply a power to a device specified based on a job processing function corresponding to an initial screen to be displayed.
Claims16
An image forming apparatus comprising:
- a plurality of function units;
- a control unit configured to control the plurality of function units;
- a reception unit configured to receive an instruction for causing the image forming apparatus to return from a sleep state in which power supply to the control unit is stopped to a stand-by state in which power is supplied to the control unit;
- a setting unit configured to set, by a user, an initial screen to be displayed when the reception unit receives the instruction;
- and
- a power control unit configured to, when the reception unit receives the instruction, supply power to the control unit and not to supply power to the plurality of units in a case where the initial screen, which is displayed when the reception unit receives the instruction, is set to a menu screen for selecting a certain function from among a plurality of functions, and supply power to the control unit and to one of the plurality of function units associated with a function screen in a case where the initial screen, which is displayed when the reception unit receives the instruction, is set to the function screen.
A control method for an image forming apparatus including a plurality of function units and a control unit configured to control the plurality of function units, the control method comprising:
- receiving an instruction for causing the image forming apparatus to return from a sleep state in which power supply to a control unit is stopped to a stand-by state in which in which power is supplied to the control unit;
- setting, by a user, an initial screen to be displayed when the reception unit receives the instruction;
- and
- controlling, in a case where the instruction is received, to supply power to the control unit and not to supply power to the plurality of units in a case where the initial screen, which is displayed when the reception unit receives the instruction, is set to a menu screen for selection of a certain function from among a plurality of functions, and to supply the power to the control unit and one of the function units associated with a function screen in a case where the initial screen, which is displayed when the reception unit receives the instruction, is set to the function screen.
