Resistive devices and methods of operation thereof

A semiconductor device comprising:

• a two terminal resistive switching device having a first terminal and a second terminal and having a first state and a second state;
• an access device having a first access terminal and a second access terminal coupled to the first terminal of the resistive switching device;
• a capacitor coupled between a first node and a second node, the first node coupled to the first access terminal;
• and
• a select transistor having a first source/drain terminal and a second source/drain terminal, the first source/drain terminal of the select transistor coupled to the first node, wherein the semiconductor device is configured to generate a signal for changing the state of the two terminal resistive switching device from the first state to the second state by charging and/or discharging the capacitor, wherein the signal is part of a program or an erase operation, part of a read operation, part of a forming operation, part of a refresh operation, or part of an auto disturb operation.

A semiconductor device comprising:

• a two terminal resistive switching device having a first terminal and a second terminal and having a first state and a second state;
• an access device having a first access terminal and a second access terminal coupled to the first terminal of the resistive switching device;
• a capacitor coupled between a first node and a second node, the first node coupled to the first access terminal;
• and
• a select transistor having a first source/drain terminal and a second source/drain terminal, the first source/drain terminal of the select transistor coupled to the first node, wherein the second terminal of the resistive switching device is coupled to a select line, wherein the semiconductor device is configured to generate a signal for changing the state of the two terminal resistive switching device from the first state to the second state by charging or discharging the capacitor.
