Abstract
The invention relates to polyglycerol esters with a particular oligomer distribution of the polyglycerol present, and to their use in in particular cosmetic formulations as, for example, emulsifier.
Claims12
A polyglycerol ester, wherein
- after its complete hydrolysis, releases on average (number-average) per mole of polyglycerol ester, carboxylic acids consisting of from 0.01 mol to 0.20 mol of a first fatty acid having 20 to 24 carbon atoms and from 0.5 mol to 2.0 mol of a second fatty acid or a mixture of fatty acids having 8 to 18 carbon atoms, and wherein after complete hydrolysis of the polyglycerol ester, a polyglycerol comprising glycerol and diglycerol is obtained in which a mass ratio of glycerol to diglycerol is greater than 1.
