Abstract
An electrophysiology electrode having multiple power connections and electrophysiology devices including the same.
Claims19
An electrophysiology device for delivering coagulation energy to a patient tissue, comprising:
- a supply electrode assembly having:
- a supply electrode for supplying tissue coagulation energy to the patient tissue, the supply electrode comprising a first portion and a second portion;
- a first supply line for delivering energy to coagulate the patient tissue to the supply electrode first portion;
- a second supply line for delivering energy to coagulate the patient tissue to the supply electrode second portion;
- a first temperature sensor of a first temperature sensor pair coupled with the supply electrode first portion;
- and
- a first temperature sensor of a second temperature sensor pair coupled with the supply electrode second portion;
- and
- a return electrode assembly having:
- a return electrode for returning energy from the patient tissue, the return electrode comprising a first portion and a second portion;
- a first return line for returning energy from the first portion of the return electrode;
- a second return line for returning energy from the second portion of the return electrode;
- a second temperature sensor of the first temperature sensor pair coupled with the return electrode first portion;
- and
- a second temperature sensor of the second temperature sensor pair coupled with the return electrode second portion,
- wherein the supply electrode first portion is configured to deliver energy to the patient tissue based on temperatures sensed by the first temperature sensor pair, and
- wherein the supply electrode second portion is configured to deliver energy to the patient tissue based on temperatures sensed by the second temperature sensor pair.

A method of delivering coagulation energy to a patient tissue, the method comprising:
- contacting the patient tissue with a supply electrode of a supply electrode assembly, the supply electrode having a first portion coupled with a first temperature sensor of a first temperature sensor pair and a second portion coupled with a first temperature sensor of a second temperature sensor pair;
- contacting the patient tissue with a return electrode of a return electrode assembly, the return electrode having a first portion coupled with a second temperature sensor of the first temperature sensor pair and a second portion coupled with a second temperature sensor of the second temperature sensor pair;
- delivering energy to the patient tissue via the supply electrode first portion based on temperatures sensed by the first temperature sensor pair, and
- delivering energy to the patient tissue via the supply electrode second portion based on temperatures sensed by the second temperature sensor pair.
