Apparatus and method for allocating resource using codebook based on resource size and burst size in broadband wireless communication system

A method for operating a base station (BS) in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:

• transmitting a first message for a group configuration;
• and
• transmitting a second message for a group resource allocation,
• wherein the first message includes a bitmap for indicating resource sizes supported in a group where a plurality of mobile stations (MSs) belongs, among a plurality of resource size candidates, and
• wherein the second message includes a user information for indicating at least one MS scheduled in the group, and a resource assignment information for indicating a resource size for the at least one MS among the resource sizes.

A base station (BS) in a wireless communication system, the BS comprising:

• a transmitter configured to
• transmit a first message for a group configuration, and a second message for a group resource allocation,
• wherein the first message includes a bitmap for indicating resource sizes supported in a group where a plurality of mobile stations (MSs) belongs, among a plurality of resource size candidates, and
• wherein the second message includes a user information for indicating at least one MS scheduled in the group, and a resource assignment information for indicating a resource size for the at least one MS among the resource sizes.
