Abstract
According to the invention, there is provided seed and plants of the hybrid corn variety designated CH260933. The invention thus relates to the plants, seeds and tissue cultures of the variety CH260933, and to methods for producing a corn plant produced by crossing a corn plant of variety CH260933 with itself or with another corn plant, such as a plant of another variety. The invention further relates to genetic complements of plants of variety CH260933.
Claims21
A seed of hybrid corn variety CH260933, produced by crossing a first plant of variety CV856723 with a second plant of variety CV760185, wherein representative seed of said varieties CV856723 and CV760185 have been deposited under ATCC Accession numbers PTA-121223 and PTA-11790, respectively.
A seed produced by crossing
- (a) a plant produced by introducing a transgene, by backcrossing or transforming a transgene into a plant of variety CV856723, or a selfed progeny thereof, with a plant of variety CV760185,
- (b) a plant produced by introducing a transgene, by backcrossing or transforming a transgene into a plant of variety CV760185, or a selfed progeny thereof, with a plant of variety CV856723, or
- (c) a plant produced by introducing a transgene, by backcrossing or transforming a transgene into a plant of variety CV760185, or a selfed progeny thereof, with a plant produced by introducing by backcrossing or transformation a transgene into a plant of variety CV856723, or a selfed progeny thereof,
- wherein said backcrossing is sufficient to produce a plant of either said variety CV856723 or said variety CV760185 further comprising the transgene, and wherein representative seed of said varieties CV856723 and CV760185 have been deposited under ATCC Accession numbers PTA-121223 and PTA-11790, respectively, and wherein the transgene is inherited by the produced seed.
A seed of hybrid corn variety CH260933 further comprising a single locus conversion, produced by crossing a first plant of variety CV856723 with a second plant of variety CV760185, wherein representative seed of said varieties CV856723 and CV760185 have been deposited under ATCC Accession numbers PTA-121223 and PTA-11790, respectively, and wherein one or both of the first plant and second plant further comprises said single locus conversion, and wherein a plant grown from said seed further comprises a trait conferred by said single locus conversion.
A method of introducing a heritable trait into hybrid corn variety CH260933 comprising the steps of:
- (a) introducing a heritable trait into at least one inbred corn variety selected from the group consisting of variety CV856723 and variety CV760185 to produce a plant of the first inbred corn variety that further comprises the heritable trait, wherein the heritable trait is introduced into said first inbred corn variety by backcrossing and wherein representative samples of seed of variety CV856723 and variety CV760185 have been deposited under ATCC Accession numbers PTA-121223 and PTA-11790, respectively;
- and
- (b) crossing a plant of the first inbred corn variety that further comprises the heritable trait with a plant of a different variety selected from said group consisting of CV856723 and CV760185 to produce a plant of hybrid corn variety CH260933 further comprising the heritable trait.
