Abstract
According to the invention, there is provided seed and plants of the hybrid corn variety designated CH684331. The invention thus relates to the plants, seeds and tissue cultures of the variety CH684331, and to methods for producing a corn plant produced by crossing a corn plant of variety CH684331 with itself or with another corn plant, such as a plant of another variety. The invention further relates to genetic complements of plants of variety CH684331.
Claims21
A seed of hybrid corn variety CH684331, produced by crossing a first plant of variety CV960250 with a second plant of variety CV952947, wherein representative seed of said varieties CV960250 and CV952947 have been deposited under ATCC Accession numbers PTA-13120 and PTA-121484, respectively.
A seed produced by crossing
- (a) a plant produced by introducing a transgene, by backcrossing or transforming a transgene into a plant of variety CV960250, or a selfed progeny thereof, with a plant of variety CV952947,
- (b) a plant produced by introducing a transgene, by backcrossing or transforming a transgene into a plant of variety CV952947, or a selfed progeny thereof, with a plant of variety CV960250, or
- (c) a plant produced by introducing a transgene, by backcrossing or transforming a transgene into a plant of variety CV952947, or a selfed progeny thereof, with a plant produced by introducing a transgene, by backcrossing or transforming a transgene into a plant of variety CV960250, or a selfed progeny thereof,
- wherein said backcrossing is sufficient to produce a plant of either said variety CV960250 or said variety CV952947 further comprising the transgene, and wherein representative seed of said varieties CV960250 and CV952947 have been deposited under ATCC Accession numbers PTA-13120 and PTA-121484, respectively, and wherein the transgene is inherited by the produced seed.
A seed of hybrid corn variety CH684331 further comprising a single locus conversion, produced by crossing a first plant of variety CV960250 with a second plant of variety CV952947, wherein representative seed of said varieties CV960250 and CV952947 have been deposited under ATCC Accession numbers PTA-13120 and PTA-121484, respectively, and wherein one or both of the first plant and second plant further comprises said single locus conversion, and wherein a plant grown from said seed further comprises a trait conferred by said single locus conversion.
A method of introducing a heritable trait into hybrid corn variety CH684331 comprising the steps of:
- (a) introducing a heritable trait into at least one inbred corn variety selected from the group consisting of variety CV960250 and variety CV952947 to produce a plant of the first inbred corn variety that further comprises the heritable trait, wherein the heritable trait is introduced into said first inbred corn variety by backcrossing and wherein representative samples of seed of variety CV960250 and variety CV952947 have been deposited under ATCC Accession numbers PTA-13120 and PTA-121484, respectively;
- and
- (b) crossing a plant of the first inbred corn variety that further comprises the heritable trait with a plant of a different variety selected from said group consisting of CV960250 and CV952947 to produce a plant of hybrid corn variety CH684331 further comprising the heritable trait.
