Abstract
A multilayered wound dressing which is two-dimensional and has a peripheral edge is provided that includes at least one hydrophobic antimicrobial layer, at least one absorbent layer which includes a water-containing hydrogel, and a covering layer. Starting from the edge of the wound dressing, at least one incision is formed, which partially separates the wound dressing.
Claims16
A multilayered wound dressing which has a peripheral edge, comprising:
- (a) a cover layer forming an outermost layer of the multilayered wound dressing,
- (b) an absorbent layer positioned beneath the cover layer that comprises a water-containing hydrogel having a water content of at least 20 wt %;
- and
- (c) a hydrophobic antimicrobial layer that is positioned beneath the cover layer;
- wherein
- an incision is formed on the peripheral edge of the wound dressing and extends from the peripheral edge to an end remote from the peripheral edge with a plurality of slits extending away from the end such that the incision partially separates the wound dressing;
- and
- a stabilizing structure embedded throughout a longitudinal axis of the absorbent layer.
