Abstract
Methods and systems for improving operation of a hybrid vehicle are presented. In one example, an engine torque estimate may be adapted in response to a torque converter impeller speed error. The methods and systems may reduce the possibility of driveline torque disturbances.
Claims13
A method for controlling hybrid engine torque output, comprising:
- during a transient torque increase responsive to a change in desired powertrain output torque,
- adjusting engine output torque and motor output torque responsive to the change in desired powertrain output torque, and further adjusting motor output torque in response to a torque converter impeller speed response;
- and
- adjusting engine output torque for an engine output torque error in response to adjustments of motor output torque.
1 more element
A method for controlling hybrid engine torque output, comprising:
- during a transient torque increase responsive to a change in desired powertrain output torque,
- adjusting engine output torque and motor output torque responsive to the change in desired powertrain output torque, and further adjusting motor output torque in response to a torque converter impeller speed response, where adjusting motor output torque includes adjusting motor torque in response to a torque converter impeller speed error, the torque converter impeller speed error based on a difference between a desired impeller speed and a measured impeller speed.
