Abstract
There is provided a flexible display having a plurality of innovations configured to allow bending of a portion or portions to reduce apparent border size and/or utilize the side surface of an assembled flexible display.
Claims15
A flexible display apparatus, comprising:
- a flexible base layer;
- a plurality of thin-film transistors (TFTs) on the flexible base layer configured to activate a plurality of organic light-emitting diode (OLED) elements in a display area of the flexible display apparatus;
- a conductive line having a first part extended to a scribed or a chamfered edge of the flexible base layer and a second part connected to at least one of the plurality of TFTs on the flexible base layer, wherein the first part and the second part of the conductive line are separated from each other within a first metal layer;
- and
- a bridge connecting the first part and second part of the conductive line, wherein the bridge is provided in a second metal layer at a non-display area of the flexible display apparatus and in contact with the first and second parts of the conductive line through contact holes in one or more insulation layers disposed between the first metal layer and the second metal layer.
