- an anode current collector formed on the substrate;
- a cathode comprising lithium cobalt oxide in electrical contact with the cathode current collector;
- an anode comprising lithium in electrical contact with the anode current collector;
- and
- a solid-state electrolyte comprising lithium phosphorous oxynitride formed between the cathode and the anode.
A solid-state battery comprising:
- a substrate comprising a layer of yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ);
- a first cathode current collector formed in contact with a first side of the layer of YSZ;
- a first anode current collector formed in contact with the first side of the layer of YSZ;
- a first cathode comprising lithium cobalt oxide (LiCoO2) in electrical contact with the first cathode current collector;
- a first anode comprising lithium in electrical contact with the first anode current collector;
- a first solid-state electrolyte comprising lithium phosphorous oxynitride (LiPON) formed between the first cathode and the first anode;
- a second cathode current collector formed in contact with a second side of the layer of YSZ opposite the first side;

- a second solid-state electrolyte comprising LiPON formed between the second cathode and the second anode.
A method comprising:
- forming, on a substrate consisting of yttria-stabilized zirconia, an anode current collector and a cathode current collector;
- forming a cathode comprising lithium cobalt oxide, wherein the cathode is in electrical contact with the cathode current collector;
- annealing the cathode at a temperature between about 700° C. and about 800° C.;
- forming a solid-state electrolyte comprising lithium phosphorous oxynitride;
- and
- forming an anode comprising lithium, wherein the anode is in electrical contact with the anode current collector, and wherein the solid-state electrolyte is formed between the anode and the cathode.
A method for processing a roll comprising a plurality of substrates, wherein each substrate of the plurality consists of yttria-stabilized zirconia, the method comprising:
- for each substrate of the plurality of substrates:
- forming on the substrate an anode current collector and a cathode current collector,
- forming a cathode comprising lithium cobalt oxide, wherein the cathode is in electrical contact with the cathode current collector,
- annealing the cathode at a temperature between about 700° C. and about 800° C.,
- forming a solid-state electrolyte comprising lithium phosphorous oxynitride, and
