Abstract
Depth of field may be rasterized by culling half-space regions on a lens from which a triangle to be rendered is not visible. Then, inside tests are only performed on the remaining unculled half-space regions. Separating planes between the triangle to be rendered and the tile being processed can be used to define the half-space regions.
Claims30
A method of depth of field rasterization comprising:
- parameterizing a lens area, having regions, based on its shape;
- identifying lens regions in which a convex polygon to be rendered is not visible;
- and
- culling, using a graphics processor, regions on a lens from which a convex polygon to be rendered is not visible.
1 more element
A non-transitory computer readable medium storing instructions executed by a computer to:
- parameterize a lens area, having regions, based on its shape;
- identify lens regions in which a convex polygon to be rendered is not visible;
- and
- cull regions on a lens from which a convex polygon to be rendered is not visible for depth of field rasterization.
1 more element
An apparatus comprising:
- a storage;
- and
- a processor coupled to the storage to parameterize a lens area, having regions, based on its shape, identify lens regions in which a convex polygon to be rendered is not visible, and perform depth of field rasterization by culling regions on a lens from which a convex polygon to be rendered is not visible.
